I have a pretty decent source!  I have mentioned from time to time that there is an appliance repair and used appliance store in my neighbourhood in Montreal where I have gotten some replacement parts from this place.  I have also mentioned that this is person who has been dangling a 1957 Speed Queen automatic washer in front of me for nearly two years now and I still can't get this person to sell the dangblasted thing to me...

Anyway, I finally got to see the workshop area where the SQ washer is being held hostage and I discovered something of a treasure trove...

Naturally I didn't have a camera with me, but I will try to describe what is available:

- MINT in the box GE 4-element cooktop in Avocado Green

- 2 Gurney (they were Tappans rebranded with the Gurney name in Canada) 1956 30-inch white electric ranges

- 2 Moffat (rebadged Norges, I believe) 40-inch white electric ranges (1957s)

- 1 GE 24-inch white electric range (1958 or 59)

- 1 Moffat 24-inch electric range with solid elements (very limited production run on those, apparently) - owner says they date back to the late 1930s

- 1 GE Monitor Top refrigerator with the round compressor - white but needs refinishing

- 1 RCA Whirlpool 14 Cubic Foot Frostless Refrigerator-Freezer with icemaker (!) - white but in severe need of refinishing

- 1 Inglis (Whirlpool) portable automatic washer - white mid to late 60s model with the chrome towel or pull bar on the front

- 1 Inglis Liberator 'Silver Anniversary Edition' washer/dryer set in Harvest Gold (1975)

He says he has more items in another location and that he is starting to think retirement so he'd like to move some of these things along.

Now, all items are rebuilt/refurbished and come with a 1-year guarantee (not that it would do you much good if you live in the US BUT he would be willing to supply a replacement part if a defect arose)

The bad news is that he is definitely not giving the stuff away...  He is asking $500 Canadian for one of the Gurney ranges and was hoping to get around $1000 for the Monitor Top...

However, if anyone was seriously interested, they could probably do some bargaining.

If I can get back there, I will try to get some pictures - please email me if anyone is interested and I'll be happy to help with any arrangements.

Oh, and I have so called that 57 Speed Queen.... LOL
