The owner's manual and all the receipts came with it. It was purchased from a company called Nelson Cato in Denver on July 5, 1963. They replaced the oven thermostat in 1997, and had a problem with the door hinge in the mid-60's.
The owner's manual is totally lacking in pizazz, and is kind of insulting to the "average homemaker" in sort of a passive-agressive way. The unspoken message seems to be that women, and only women, cook, and that they're not too bright.
There's supposed to be one of those "burner with a brain" things, but it seems to be missing it's sensor (although I have to look around the crate to see if it's hiding somewhere.) other than that, the only thing on it that I've noticed doesn't work is the oven light switch. The lights come on if you open the oven door, but not otherwise. I don't know if the panel switch was bypassed or what, but if those are the biggest problems, I'm happy.
