Hi, im new here, im probably the youngest here too. I really love any Hotpoints from the 70's to the 90's. I have no machines yet but im soon getting a machine from a repairman im friends with. My mum had 9536 Washing Machine which loved and my aunt had a WD22 Washer Dryer which i loved too. This is my first thread and i randomly made it about the Liberators from the 70's. I know some things about them but im asking for some pictures and information about them (preferably Hotpoint ads, catalogues etc.). Im hoping to make some friends here, please reply very soon,
James

Well James...

...I don't have a laundry machine collection, as I live in an apartment. (So for me it's vacuums and other vintage small appliances).

BUT I can assure you you will find some of the best people here. I've been on the site for a time -- took a long period of not posting, so most folks probably don't remember me. But I remember them.

Make sure to check out the collections and restorations. You will be amazed at what some of these folks have done!

Welcome aboard, set your dial, push, and prepare to have a good time here!

James

Welcome to the group. I always thought I was the only one until I stumbledd across this site, I can honestly say people here are warm, friendly and will willingly swap knowledge of machines you are interested in.

It's funny, I think we all have a certain fondness for the machines that were around in our childhood, ie...mine is the Indesits from the 70's that my Aunties had and for the Hotpoint Supermatics my Mum had when I was little.

I have only ever owned one Hotpoint machine, it was an electronic 800rpm with a chrome door, don't know the model no, sorry, I can say it was a fab machine, washed well and fast and made fantastic noises. Towards the end of its life the door gave in and it used to throw water across the room when it span!

Anyway James, welcome to the best site in the world!!

Thank You For Your Warm Welcomes!

Hi,
Thank you all for your warm welcomes! I'm happy to be here.
Hotpoint95622: They are some classic machines there. I hope the repairman i'm good friends with will bring me something as nice as that, but unfortunately many people in Ireland wern't as wealthy until the mid 80's to get automatic washing machines like them, but they got twintubs instead. My Granny had a Hotpoint Twintub and it lasted about 20 years.
