In Holyoke, MA. I'm so tempted; I love thick coil burners and there are six of them. Ovens worry me a little, but this beauty has classic simple lines and a very fetching stainless steel top. Hard to guess the vintage.

 

It reminds me of my uncle and his partner's L&H built-in wall oven and twin 2-burner cooktops. They worked for +60 years.

Impressive range, I wonder what the amperage draw is of this beast? I'm guessing 40-50 amps.
 
Neat TD Range

The Amp draw of this range with all burners on Hi and either broiling in both ovens or pre-heating both ovens would be around 70 Amps at 240 volts.

 

The range top may be brushed chrome or SS, a Magnet will tell you for sure.

 

The wide top elements always looked nice but are the worst sealed rod type elements by far, slow to heat, slow to cool and slow to boil water because they are almost never flat enough to stay in good contact with cook-ware because warp as they heat and cool.

My sainted Aunt Mary in Milwaukee had a 36" Thermador. I remember the controls were in the center of the backsplash and the infinite heat controls were HI, 90, 80, 70, 60, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10 and LO. Unfortunately, it had a concealed bake element that rusted through the oven bottom. I would have replaced it with an aluminum cookie sheet.

This model with the 6 units and 2 ovens was 44 inches wide and was available starting in 1946. 44 inch ranges from Thermador were available through 1953.
 
I thought that this might be wider than 40 inches!  What a neat configuration, though.   I'd have to guess the oven and broiler units are open-coil on a range of this vintage.

It would have looked like this one. No bells and not one whistle. What caught my eye was the stove's beauty and anachronous simplicity of design. I had to look closer to see the Thermador badge. It would have been nice to have photos of the oven insides; I imagine they would have had the old "waffle-iron" nichrome coils for heating units. So tempted but as I've said before, I've run out of room.
 
I don't understand why they used such a narrow range hood, and the upper cabinets don't line up with the width of the range. Assuming that everything is original.
