In need of a new twin tub.....

Hello, thought I'd post here as there were so many friendly and helpful responses from my last post about twin tub detergents....

I have a superbrite twin tub that has failed me after less than a year. I've used twin tubs for the last 20 odd years. I was given a Hotpoint that bit the dust after years of good service and just prefer them to an automatic. Does anyone have any experience of the Thompson full size twin tub? I just want to be sure it's worth the investment. I tried to but a polar twin tub last year for £300, they took my money but it never arrived. If any of you experts can help with opinion, I'd be most grateful. Many thanks.
