Thanks Lawrence! I think you are right about the date of this stove. I am surprised how hard it has been to find information on it!  Maybe because it is a pretty basic model that does not seem to have the "Deluxe" features?

WOWZERS!!

That's a cute stove Kelly!

I love the triangle shaped knobs, and that big oven-door window!

CONGRATULATIONS!

Thanks for the happy dance hippiedoll! I love my new stove! My kitchen retro is coming together slowly but surely. My new quest is to find a vintage dishwasher.

Hotpoint Stove

Thanks Phil! I think I made the correct choice. The kitchen is getting close to being restored to it's 1962 MCM loveliness! My husband is just finishing up with the cabinets, which is why we don't have doors on the lower cabinets in the picture. I just got the range installed yesterday after spending many hours cleaning off 50 years of grease. I am very pleased with it. It works perfectly, other than the timer, which I will replace once I find one. Other than that it is just beautiful! Now, if I could get my fridge back that would be ideal. After seven months I am becoming increasingly impatient... [this post was last edited: 10/1/2018-20:19]

Hotpoint Stove is Overheating

My mid-sixties Hotpoint stove, catalog number 108RB 3320, serial number WW 0030349, is overheating. I realized there was a problem after I roasted a chicken, which finished cooking in three hours, 2+ hours faster than the called for cook time. Fortunately, I had inserted a meat thermometer, which prevented it from burning.

I then tested the stove temperature with an oven thermometer. It was difficult to get a stable temperature reading at any temp setting, but I would guess it is approximately 50 degrees hotter than the temperature set on the oven knob.

Does anyone know what part I need to purchase for this issue? And, is this an easy fix that I could do myself, or do I need to call a repair person? I have included a photo of the serial number plate on the stove. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
