A couple of weeks ago, I was in Fort Wayne and contacted fellow club member Rickr. Met him at his home in the early evening and we had ourselves a "Wash-in". First time either one of us met. He's a great guy and I can't thank him enough for his hospitality. His restorations include his home and cars as well as appliances.

I've uploaded a few shots to my photo album. I also have several video clips (one of the the 56 Whirlpool and some of the 64 Filter Flo) but I have absolutely no idea how to upload them to the site. They're about 4-6 meg each. I know there was a thread quite a while back about uploading video clips and tips on compressing them down but I haven't been able to find it.

If anyone has suggestions please let me know. In the mean time, hope you enjoy the photos.

I wish I was there!

Rocky!

How fantastic that you and Rick got together for a mini wash-in! It's great that you guys are getting in some washer practice before the *big event* in Omaha!

Rick - that 1956 Whirlpool has got to be one of the most beautiful machines ever; inside and out! All those lights have got me swooning! I'm sure she is even more beautiful in person!

Thanks Rocky for sharing such great pics! Hope to see you in June! :-)

Yeah, that looks like a good time! Those '56 Whirly's are so good looking and all those lights----just like the juke box's!

Those GE's used to be everywhere----I'm glad to see one survived. I might have liked them more if I had figured out early on how to defeat the lid-switch!

Wash-in's are such a good thing!

The aesthetics are just beautiful on these particular WP machines. Something about center timer dial machines that are just very pleasing. It's too bad WP didn't keep this style around longer.

YAY for Wash-Ins

Looks like fun!! The '56 Whirlpool is one beautiful machine!! Very fun wash action as well!

The GE Filter-Flo is the best, IMHO, as far as action is concerned...gotta love that fast, splashy, 100 or so OPM (oscillations per minute) agitation! Now to find one...

Thanks for the work guys....

I want to find a WP a year or two newer than Rick's, which is what my mom had, with the pop up buzzing lid! If anyone ever comes across one in Socal, please let me know!!!!

Rocky, looks like y'all definitely had a good time. and hey, I see nuttin' wrong with the flash freezing the spin action for taht fragment of time. I love looking at the whirling laundry frozen in space and especially when it's spray rinsing. Rick, summer is definitely agreeing with you :-) but I"m curious, why weren't there any pictures capturing rocky enjoying the machines. That's what is so cool about wash-ins, seeing expressions and hearing expression from participants.

Great Fun!

Thanks for the videos and pictures.
What great machines!
You guys look like you had a great time!

This jukebox is boring me.... (:

Thanks for the nice comments everybody. And thank you Nelson, for coming to my house and taking the pictures. And Dadoes for posting the video.
I am sorry to say,I never thought of taking Nelsons(Rocky2) picture. I had just met him,and he took some pictures, and it just never entered my mind to ask for his camera. Shame on me! :(

BTW I "tricked out" the Seeburg jukebox this past Winter. it used to look like this picture before I made some changes to the lighting. (boring) Now go back and look at the "tricked out" version in first post of this thread.

What fun!! I bet that you guys had a great time. I just love all those lights on the Whirlpool!!! Such class. Thanks guys for sharing. Terry

Great Time

We Had a great time. I really enjoyed myself. Thanks Greg for posting the video clips.

In my excitement that morning, I grabbed the wrong digital camera with the low capacity memory card. With the video clips and the few shots I took, the memory card filled up VERY quick. So I figured you'd all would enjoy the videos more than my mug shot LOL!

Anyway, enjoy all, and thanks again Rick.

Wash-ins

WOW, what a great time. I have hosted 4 of these now and it is always a lot of fun.

I have a V14 but yours (Rick's) has more features being the TOL version. These GE's are great.

The console on the Whirlpool is fantastic. The designers really put some thought into what they could do with lighting.

Jimmy (filter-flo) will be out this way in July for a big car show so we will co-host a wash-in the week after the fourth.

Hope everyone has fun at the convention. I will be in Detroit that week for work.
