Info Wanted on THOR Semi Auto's

Hi all
Would anyone have any info on THOR washers, As A kid we had a washer that I think was a THOR that was pedal operated, but I have never seen one again

Hi Mike,
Snap on the childhood memory..As a child we use to stay with a with a couple in Cornwall, there house was split in two to make a self-contained, self-catering house, Vera the lady who lived in the other side use to have a Thor Mk3 washer, she use to call it "the Thumper"..I use to whiz round on Monday morning to watch her use it...chunkie brown sandals swtiching the pedals between wash-stop-spin..

Many years passed and i decided to try any get hold of one of these machines, well..sucess, I have had 2, but sadly they were sent to Washer heaven..they are lovely machines, but they have one major flaw, the CLUTCH..that is what they all fail on

Wonderful features...Overflow rinse, Suds saver system, any more questions let me know.

Many Thanks to you all, I dont think we had the dishwasher or if we did it was never used. Its a long story that I will post one day soon,when I get a free day or two explaining why I grow up with a number of washers and vac's But the THOR is one I had not seen since around 1965. one of the others was an AEG twin tub Lavalux( I think that was the spelling) that must have been around 1965/70

Arhhh the AEG Lavalux, another great machine, I have two of the early twinnies..really well built, and i also like the clear spinner lid.
