Howdy folks,

Got these beauties around 7 years ago at an estate sale for $125. Once I saw them I knew we had to have them. Both my parents and grand parents had Maytag in the 70's. They came with the sales brochure, operating instructions and purchase receipt. The sales brochure is awesome in it's 70's flourish.

The motor was killed by water leaking from the injector valve. The water road the tub seal around and dropped right in the motor. This turned into my summer project. I have put new old stock belts on, Fixed all the lights, New motor, cleaned out bleach system (YUCK) Replaced all water injector part except for the one that goes from the valve to the tub part # 206154. It is impossible to find. All the other parts, No problem, I even found real Maytag parts on E-bay, but this is no where to be found. Does anyone know where to find one?

Thanks Mike

Thanks for the reply Dan.

I can find the ghosts of that part everywhere, but when you look closer at the websites they are all out of stock. I tried Automatic, but it turns out they just have a rubber washer, not the hose.

I do have the more modern version of the injector hose, maybe I will try to make it work.

I'm not sure when they came about, but some Maytags had a plastic cap over the top of the motor to prevent water and other debris from getting into them. If you don't have one, it would be worth adding it.

(Photo from my thread, "A Second Chance for a Rusty Maytag A408". Despite the significant damage from leakages/overflows, the motor itself was still fine.)

Yes it is confusing, Peter.

I am having a hard time with that issue, too. I ordered what I thought was an injector hose from Automatic (See above) it turned out to be a $50 dollar small rubber washer.

@coldspot.Thanks for looking, let me know what you find.

I did look for the motor hat, was unable to find it. So, I made my own out of sheet metal. Hung it above the motor at an angle to shed the flying water.
