I’m guessing this was top-of-the-line. It’s a DE 712 completely electronic controlled Maytag dryer, this would’ve replaced the DE808 dryer.

A customer of ours has had this since new. It’s had many repairs and she finally got tired of the fact that it just never shut off reliably or completely dried things And had us replace it yesterday we upgraded her to a new Maytag professional grade dryer. She switched from electric to save money and also save damage to the environment.

Pictures of the old dryer and the new. It will be interesting to hear how she likes the new one after she uses it for a while. I’ll report back. I’m sure I will hear from her.

Interestingly enough, I have a TOL 810 dryer along with the washer, however I’m in the process of trying to clean them up since I no longer have any room. Will probably post a thread later this evening ‘Thinning The Heard’ with both the 606 and 810 set.

It’s a DE 712

Tag says DE710, one step below TOL. This generation had problems with the waferboards letting go internally for the start switch. Maytag used a relay in the 12 series (maybe even the 11 series) after that to start the dryer.

Any front/rear bulkhead mounted sensor is not going to be dead on accurate, especially with smaller loads. My 81 Kenmore wasn't better, and in cases with bigger loads, was worse than my SOH dryers. The baffle mounted sensors in HOH's were dead on accurate though.
