I saw a really cool vintage GE stereo system at an open-air market last weekend. It looked to be from the 60's and resembled two end tables: One "table" had a flip-up lid on the top that opened to reveal the control panel, and a slide-out turntable underneath. The other "table" was an aux speaker with a record storage unit. Has anyone ever seen one of these? I wish I'd had the presence of mind to buy it, or at least take a picture - it didn't last long.

A few weeks ago I was in a thrift shop and there was something that may have been just what you're talking about but I didn't investigate it and there was only the one piece that I guess could have doubled as an end table. I figured it was just a remote speaker,, done in that 70's ish overdone fake walnut cainetry with all the filligree woodwork on the front over the speak cloth. On the backside the pressboard with a few speaker wire terminals. I couldn't see any name and I also didn't have my specs on to get a good look. Whether it opened on the front or top I never checked but I don't think so.

Pete, I actually saw something just like that at the Goodwill today. It was a matching set, and they were hideous.

The GE set at the flea market was very 60's cool: Light wood, and very minimalist.
