>Interesting what info is easy to find out there. Too much personal stuff is too available nowadays <br <br
Exactly. This, plus one very, very bad experience with another "enthusiast" website several years ago (scary, stalker-like emails from the proprietor quoting exactly how many times we'd visited their site, how long we looked at each page, etc., using our names in every paragraph, trying to get us to "join") are the main reason we really don't like to fill in much info in "profiles" on most "enthusiast" websites and forums that we frequent anymore. While that may make some people upset, it allows at least some semblence of a feeling of security for us; we'd rather be known by what we can do to participate in the discussions. Whether or not anyone likes it, some people just want some things to remain private.

I would be suspect of the demographics. How can they trace a username to household and income and education? Does road runner and internet providers give the information? It is a little scary that they could compile a chart by gender, income, education, site frequency I could see. In order to get a compilation of stats, they must have a data base of individual stats. How do they know I am a male or a female?

Vac Land..

No, I didn't post there, don't go there too often. <br
I hope that is not Robert's home address and phone. We have to register who we are for our websites but we use an office address and phone, and is the same info we have on our website so it is of little matter -- we want to be contacted.

It's right there in the first link, plain as day......

"We have sparse data about automaticwasher.org, so these are rough estimates&quot <br <br
I find the racial data to be ineresting. Apparently homos are basically not White, Black, Hispanic or Asian but "other". I just new we were of angelic or Eskimo origin.

I find the data to be a bit fishy also. On transactional sites, it's easy to get user info, as it's provided by the credit card companies (who know all sorts of things about you)

There is some information they can get from email addresses through your interactions with other websites that know more information about you. There's a term for it, but I can't remember it right now. The company I used to work for was a pioneer in this sort of profiling, which is one of the reasons I was happy to leave. I found the implications of it troubling.

The funny thing is, they may have a lot of information about you, but it may not be accurate information.

There is a Big Brother !!

It's interesting to say the least - and a bit scary. Many of the demographics are somewhat correct, majority male, etc. and if they have a way of fishing for IP addresses that use this site, those stats by zip code (avg. income, etc.) could be easily gleaned from other sources (NSA?) so who knows??

Tried every which way possible to read the link, but every t

Would someone copy cut and paste for me. I'd love to read the fiction.

Thanks, Group-hug man, Toggles !
