What a great blender! - recipe cards - is that a functional card like a Keymatic, or just a slot to hold printed recipes?

 

"Solid State" - haven't seen that term for decades. For you youngsters - it means the internal electronics feature "compact" transistors, instead of vacuum tubes.

That's interesting about the "recipe cards" function. I wonder how that works? Does it follow a pattern automatically based on a punched card or some other interchangeable program card?

I remember seeing this one in Consumers reports in the mid 70s. Panasonic, imported from Japan. The "card changer" essentially rotates a drum to get one of 5 (I think) speeds, then you dial in the amount of time, and press start. Delightfully complicated!

The Short Spurt has to be a Pulse, and what a harmless trademark for it, though back even then, people would get other impressions of...

Would be neat if a blender were manufactured like this today...
