internal water heater

I'm looking at the Whirlpool & Maytag line up trying to find one with an internal water heater. On the Maytag MHW6630HW it has a sanitize cycle on the front panel, and states in it's spec sheet has an internal water heater.
The Whirlpool WFW5620HW has a sanitize cycle with oxi on front panel and in the description it says;
The Sanitize cycle uses increased water temperature to eliminate 99.9% of common household bacteria.
No mention of a water heater.
The other Whirlpool model WFW6620HC has sanitize on front panel, no mention of oxi on the panel or internal water heater in the spec sheet.
Does Whirlpool actually has a water heater on board anymore?

Santize with Oxi -> No heater!

Sanitize with Oxi is used on Whirlpool corporation machines that either don't have a heater (FLs) or on machines that can't reach the required temps for normal Sanitize cycles (TLs).

Machines with Steam do have a heater though, independent of Sanitize cycle.

The Whirlpool 6620 has a heater and a steam function. I have the machine.

If the Whirlpool machines says just sanitize and there is no oxi designation then it has a heater

The WP WFW5620HW

Has a water heating element, If a WP built FL machine says Sanitize on it has a BI heating element.

I think there is more to this than what meets the eye.  I conjecture the there is difference in the cycle software on the 5620 vs. the 6620, hence why there is a differentiator of "with oxi" and one that doesn't have the designate "with ox"  I'd only buy one that didn't have "with oxi" on the front next to Sanitize.  I can tell you the KWH rating on the 5620 and 6620 is less than the 8620 & 9620 whirlpool models.  The latter two have the same KWH rating on Energy Star tag as is found on my 2011 WFW97HEX Duet.  I will always select a model with higher KWH rating as that means more cycles with the onboard heater being used.

Roscoe62 sorry I didn't get back sooner. I have not actually done a full towel load with the machine but I can tell you it rinses very well. The interm spins are fast, not the full 1160 but it helps with rinsing.

I mentioned in another thread that my machine doesn't have a rinse and spin..BUT...and I found this by just experimenting that if you need an extra rinse you can select "drain & spin" and then select extra rinse.

The machine will do a high level rinse and rinse for over 5 minutes. I was surprised. I didn't check the manual but it's a pretty cool that it does that.

By the way most cycles default to 2 rinses except colors cycle. You can't do a sanitize with colors but you can use the "steam clean" option.
