Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Hi everyone and thanks, glad you enjoyed my silly “Living-Photos” LOL. I think this will be a new great feature to add to the site. Being creative with washers is easy because they are so much FUN <br
Lot’s of great questions, if I miss anyone‘s question by mistake, just post it again <br
<i></b>Is there any way yet to click on the photo and morph the whole washer into my house? </i
Hi Jerry, yes it’s called witchcraft, LOL <br
<i>
But I'm stumped..... that gorgeous red agitator with the cool ports on the plate and the wings. </i
Mike that came out of a 1956 AMC-Coronado (Beam style) machine that I found in 1997. I didn’t keep the machine in my permanent collection but I couldn’t let that beautiful agitator go <br
<i>
You kill me, you're so over the top. </i
Only my lint, dear. : <br
<i>
I notice the Philco has a Water Saver button. Does it work like the one on the Wizard---you push it to stop the fill and start the agitation?</i
Hi Eugene, yes exactly. If you look at the dial on the GE you will see the exact same button as well <br
<i>
When will the program & button be ready so we can all have one? </i
It’s on the ever growing to-do list <br
<i>
Interesting dryer filter on the Philco.</i
Jim in Minnesota when some says something is “interesting” that is code word for “bad”, such as “her shoes sure are interesting“.LOL And yes that Philco lint filter is very annoying to clean, having to pull that whole panel open, then pulling out that drum filter and trying to get the lint out of it. It works just fine, but not easy to clean <br
<i>
#1 On the 1958 Whirlpool combo...What happens when the water temp is set to OFF? </i
The Whirlpool combo wash time dial does not have a push/pull on/off feature. You set the water temperature dial to “Off” to stop the machine at any time. When I set the controls, I set it to Off, then I turn the timer to a 10 minute wash, then I select my water temperature. I must say that with Tide HE or vintage Dash this washer is an incredible cleaning machine. With a 29” diameter cylinder and with the water level not coming above the bottom of the wash cylinder (it washes with a heavy spray stream only) those clothes falling down the full length of the drum really SMACK those clothes clean. It’s a great machine for washing, just doesn’t spin (200rpm) or dry very well. At least they got one of the three parts of a combo working well <br
<i>
#2 Do you have the filter for the 1958 GE filter flow? </i
Why yes, of course, a Filter-Flo without a Filter Pan would leave me with just a “Flo” <br
<i>
What application did you use to create it?</i
Mike, I usually write most of my HTML by hand it's just quicker than dealing with any extra software, but since there is more math involved with this I popped that picture into Frontpage just to draw the outlines of the hotspots <br
<i>
i agree we need to see that cool red agitator DO something</i
It’s on the to list David <br
<i>
Does you nose twitch every time we click on this thing? <b></i
Oh god I hope not, that would be like a gym workout for my nose and it would get even bigger. LOL

Great stuff, Robert, you are indeed the "appliance master." I wanna be just like you when I grow up. <br
You have help me show my S.O. that I'm not odd for my interests in this area. (But still plenty odd for everything else.)

Truly wonderful...

What a nice treat for those of us who won't ever have (or have any chance to see) such a marvelous collection...like visiting a "virtual appliance museum", which is something I've wished would appear for a long time, including vintage refrigerators and stoves, too. Thanks!

That is so cool !!
You need to enter the dryer vent photo in a photo competition. It is really hypnotic <br
Thanks for all your cool innovations. We all enjoy them <br
Thanks again, Jim

Rodrigo, i saved some videos of the Bendix Power Surge. i looked in the archives but i cant find the thread they came from. I sent one video of the "fully loaded wash" to your email. David

Bendix (Thor) Power Surge

Thanks David for your help and I just found the other one as well. Rodrigo actually the best video of the my 1956 Thor branded but Bendix made Power-Surge washer is the one I made when I replaced the old hardened (due to age) rubber agitator disk with a brand new one. <br
Everyone this video is 14mb so you might want to right click and select save target as... and download this to your hard drive, then watch it <br

That is what you call excellent rollover. Amazing from the change you made the big difference. That is such a excellent design it's to bad they didn't advance it and make it into a 1/18 with that design
Thank you for the video
Peter
