Picked this up in the morning along with a WM22, it's in absolutely stunning condition, all plastic's intact and no rust. Also everything is original, the pump with the metal guard etc. I know it's the most basic of the 1986 range but honestly I love it to bits! It's shocking how somebody threw this away and there was nothing wrong with it, well nothing internally, they must have knocked the door off it as it was in pieces but I gave it a replacement.

I didn't realise they were that old, I bet there's quite a few still in use. You don't see many of the 95000 series now so I suppose most of those have been scrapped.

Thank you!

I'll post more photos tomorrow as it's now in the shed and ready to be polished up. BTW I've christened it "Fate", suggested by myself and my bestfriend after a shocking revelation in our circle of friends. Anybody have a colour manual scan too?

James.

New or Second Hand?

Are you sure its second hand? It looks like it just came out of the origional packaging from Hotpoint.

It's amazing how fresh it looks!

Tested out today and it's top! I must do some proper photos tomorrow when the place is deep cleaned. For now this is all I could do. Oh and todays challenge was to change the front panel and door on the 9325A so that it closely resembles a 9324A that matches the 9534A. The result is satisfying and didnt take much effort, it just needed to be well thought out. I'd much prefer to have a spinslider WM machine like I used to have and a TL22 dryer. I think I mmight have to make room for 2 more machines down the back beside these LOL!

9510W

Ah, my family's machine from July 1986 to March 1996. Interesting in retrospect; anathema at the time! I couldn't wait to see the back of it. One water level, no fabric conditioner compartment...even the Candy we had before it gave us that much!

Endless cycles of number 3 + Economy Wash. In fact, every programme + Economy Wash, except towards the end when I was old enough to have a bit more of an influence. And always the separate rinse with (all too often) Sainsbury's Blue Mist conditioner. Not a period I miss!

The tub was caked in scale in the end and the bearings were on their way out to the point of a leak on the floor; the programmer was also getting iffy, though it was still working when the WM12 replaced it.

I do have the manual but not scanned...it has to be said the only colour is the photo on the front; the rest is brown on white like the others of its time. I'll try and get scanning some day next week when working late.

Loving the Hotpoint showroom effect in the wash house!

WWWOOOOWWW!!!!

wow james what a wonderful find. dont think ive ever seen a 95 in such a good condition, i mean i suppose mines nearly the same, but this doesnt even have the typical bit of rust at the bottom, or a single broken sidestrip. where did you find it?
well done,

george.

@alex - Yes I agree I've never seen a Hotpoint so basic but these are it's quirks.
It's a lovely and weirdly interesting machine at that and has the air of tradition about it as this would be what you seen in council terraces etc. Take your time with the manual, it would be great to have a copy as this machine is staying for good (with those 4 feet on it I wont me moving it anywhere!)!

@george - I got it behind the local electric shop for free, this was thrown out because of worn brushes and an iffy seal. It's condition is stunning, my 9534 not far behind and yours too. I'm so happy yours is going at last!

It would be nice to find a better condition panel for the dryer now but that one hasnt been cleaned up yet. We'll see.

James.

James - congratulations! Your washhouse looks amazing.  I can just imagine the noise of 4 Hotpoint spin cycles in sync with each other right now :-).

Hi James.

Congratulations on the new old acquisition!

9510's are probably the rarest of the 1986 95X0 dial controlled automatics, so its really pleasing the you have been able to find one and in such good condition too!

Of the 1986 Next Generation front loader models, your 9510 has pretty much completed the collection:

9510 800 Plus .... your good self
9520 800 De Luxe .... myself and Rob
9530 1000 Plus .... Matthew (Hoover1100)
9540 1000 De Luxe .... Jon
9550 Microtronic De Luxe L.E .... Matthew (Hoover1100) - though strictly speaking the 9551 was the 1986 model
&
9560 Microprofile 1300 De Luxe .... myself and Rob

We just need someone to find a 9600 toploader to get the set! Then we need a 9300, 9301, 9310, 9320, 9330 and 9340 :-)
Oh and a 9901 and 9920

Great stuff!
Paul

Hi guys!

The reason behind the recurring Hotpoint theme in my shed is down to the fact that the retailer behind which I get these machine from sold only Hotpoint since the 60's up until the early 21st century. I didnt get any videos done today as my phone was dead. I have to keep my eyes peeled for a proper 9324A or 9334A to match the 9534A and secondly a 9310W or a 9300W sounds interesting, to match the 9510W.
Speaking of 9550's I must enquire about the one I know of. When money is secured I must invest in a new original dial for the 9534 as the one it has is pattern but I might be able to get one off a scrap machine. Also a few door handle/buttons as these seem to be the breaking point in these machines.

Is it me or does the 9310 dryer have a clockwork timer?

James.
