Very nice
What machine will this replace? or are you just adding to your collection?
Fixed the WM12 yet?

I hope you can upload some videos of the machine in action on youtube! Am I right in thinking that Boil will heat to 100C or is it 85C??

Thanks for sharing

most beautiful

hey, this is a really nice machine! Wish we had agitator-type twinnies over here. Is that some programme selector on the right? Congrats to your find.

Great find!

Great find there! A good clean and shine will bring it upto standard.

HotpointFan are you going to upload videos of your WM62?

Welcome...

To the Supermatic gang! You just got the exact model my Granny had until she went automatic. Many memories I had sitting on top of the spinner...

Looks like it had a busy life but it will look great once given a clean inside and out. Please do take the back panel off and post pics as you immerse yourself in a classic 30 year old design that was a favourite between the mid 60's to the mid 90's.

You got that wrong!
Warm=40C
Hot=60C
Very Hot=85C
These settings - You fill the tub up, add the laundry, agitate for a few minutes on what ever wash action required. then advance the temperature dial to the temp required, one of the above. Once temp is reached, the dial moves back to Wash, and starts the agitation until switched off (according to the wash action dial). You then transfer to the spinner, and spin for a few minutes, before setting auto rinse, and the machine performs special rinse/spin cycles. Every time the machine stops, that's 1 rinse complete, most cycles require 3, but it does mention in the instructions towels or heavy loads may need more rinses.

Also spinner doesn't hold as much as the wash tub.

Boil=100C
Is a special setting where the machine will boil the laundry at 100C - same as boiling on a stove (Very popular back in the 60-80's). The temperature dial won't advance round to wash with this setting, it simply boils & boils, until you manually advance it. In fact, the instruction manual even states it could boil dry, but it will automatically switch off!

Here's the instructions:
