Were the Supreme Court not at the tipping point, it really wouldn't bother me if McCain won the election. However, the next president is going to determine the state of the court for decades. If McCain tips it firmly into conservative territory, any hope of establishing meaningful gay rights will be out the window until after many of us who frequent AW are dead.
Think about what that means for a generation of gay men and women---in everything from fairness in employment practices, to adoption, to marriage--- before you cast your vote for McCain.

You are absolutely right. Living in Europe the last 25 years, I have had the opportunity to experience life as a real human being, with full civil rights.
Any gay man who chooses McCain/Palin is making the conscious decision to take this country back to the darkest of dark ages.
You can't get any more self-hating than that.
I do not understand how any gay can even consider these two. Hell, even if we leave the question of human rights out of it (the only issue relevant to me) there is still the delicate little fact that the republicans in the last eight years have only wrecked havoc on the US.

But in all fairness, it seem's for a group of liberals, we seem awful judgemental of Ms. Palin. She is a moderate that was an independent for many years. I just feel we should give her more than one speech to get to know her, before branding her a truck stop waiting hooker who's fruit doesn't fall far from the tree.

I think there are legitimate points and criticisms to make of all the candidates. And caricatures have a long history in political debate.
The problem with the digital age is that more people are deceived as images are "photoshopped." It seems like it adds an element of unfairness to the discussion. Unless it is clearly presented as a caricature, it is a lie. And that debases the discussion.
