Introducing the Wards "Everything" Box Fan

I've always loved old box fans. Over the years I have collected many. I've never seen one with this many features before. It was pretty rough. I just finished a complete restoration. I think the only that I didn't have to fix was the speed selector.

Does anyone have any guesses as to the age?

Speed Selector

The fan is variable speed, reversible, with a thermostat.

Motor

The motor was all gummed up and it had a few loose stator wires that made a horrible buzzing sound when running. The thermostat was also messed up. The blades were not even close to being in balance. Rust galore, I took it down to bare metal, primed and repainted the whole fan. Now it runs better than new.

That's a fine restoration job and a great looking fan.  I've got a couple of Lau Ultra Twentys and they are also a fine machine.

Cool Fan

The variable speed control is really unique. I have never seen one like it.

Very nice TOL(guess at the time it was sold)fan!-Never seen a box fan with variable speed.And it looks like it has a reversing switch.Wonder who made it for MW.

The fan is made by Hunter (a.k.a. Robbins and Myers). It is reversible.

I need to get me a vintage fan. I use a fan in my bedroom almost year round, and the new fans only last about a year or year and a half.
