Making a W&D Last As Long As Possable
The two main things that determine the life of a W&D are time and the amount of loads that the machine is asked to do.
Probably the 2nd most important things are keeping the machine clean [ not pouring bleach, detergent all over the washer, powered detergent should be measured and dumped in not sprinkled ] and keeping the machine in an environment that is not too humid.
Probably 3rd is not excessively overloading the washer, but keep in mind that under loading a washer does far more harm to the overall life of any W&D. The timer, water pump, inlet valve, pump belt, motor, suspension system and other controls to name just some important parts that will wear out eventually do not care if you put the full load that the washer was designed to wash, and all these items are only going to work just so many times before they fail.
