Does anyone know where I can order a replacement cloth roll cover for my 1948 Ironrite Model 85? The site <ironrite.com> is apparently non-functional, and Google doesn't turn up any leads other than e-Bay.
Run up my own out of heavy muslin, which was the common method, but you can order below.
One can also scout thrifts, or eBay auctions for "new in box" Ironrite roller covers and pads, but sometimes they cost so much more than running up one's own.
Ironrite was one of the first ironer's to offer pre-made roller covers for sale. Until then women sewed their own or just covered the roller in heavy muslin (cut a little longer than the roller).
If you have access to a sewing machine rooler covers are easily made, just use the old one as a pattern. It is basically a lenght of muslin or linen with a casing on each side for the drawstring.
