Finally a May that feels like MAY! --Late JUNE, actually...

After all that Winter Vortex we'd had (& I still can't get rid of my cold or cough)...

But I don't like opening my windows, and I notice not too many other people in my neighborhood do either... And so far nobody else has theirs on yet either...

Another problem is the wife always complains about feeling cold...

turned on the new central this morning, wanted to keep it cool before the heat hit.....was actually dying to see how it works, so far so good, super quiet, but still didn't expect to turn it on yet...

it didn't come on until around noon....that's when the heat hit into the 90's, actually felt hotter than that....and this is only day 1, were expecting these temps for at least 2 more days.....

forget Spring and Fall, we go from one extreme to the next....

No!

At least not in this house. Just isn't that warm in our part of New York, that is my opinion anyway.

However going by what one has seen/heard whilst walking about others feel differently. Let them have at it, that is what I say. Con Edison isn't giving away anything and see no reason to pay triple digit electric bills any sooner than is truly necessary.

Well, my heat kicked on this morning with the thermostat set at 62. Closed the windows up now as its too chilly to even use the BBQ. Not worth putting a/c in for just 1 day. Maybe next month. Usually cools right off at night here off the lake and a window fan works fine. Once the humidity hits, a/c will be running, trust me.

With it getting into the low 90s here today the central a/c was turned on this morning.
Just last week we had the furnace on in the morning and evening.
Hope this heat lady's only a day or two so I can turn the a/c off and save some electricity for the rest of the month

Ran mine the last 2 days.

Yogitunes, did you get a new HVAC system and if so, what brand

Hi frig!

The A/C has been on at home for the past few days now. Sadly I'm not getting to enjoy the warmth (in the 80s) as I'm in Colorado where it's been cloudy, in the 40s and raining. And yes the heat is on where I'm staying. I'm kinda pissed cuz it was such a cold spring at home and now I'm stuck in cold again.

Barely hitting low 80's here outside and I turned off the heat yesterday morning after the heat cycled on upstairs with the thermostat set to 66°.

Have been running two old window air conditioners just a few hours since to get rid of the humidity, will probably add one or two more as it gets warmer.

It's still cooler upstairs even if I didn't run the air conditioner in my bedroom today, the temperature upstairs didn't reach 68°. I started the air conditioner in the kitchen when the temp reached 72° this afternoon and I shut it off about two hours ago and the temperature went up from 69° to 72° again. 93 Degrees in Springfield, Mass. today

so I put in the 3 Friedrich window units. One more day of heat tomorrow, so yes, they are running already.

It was only a week ago that I had to turn the heat back on, because of how cold and damp it was.
