Is the Laundry Alternative Niagra Gone For Good?

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

UUuuugghhhhhhhhhhh!

That is a shame. I was hoping the Niagra would catch on, it was a great washer for the price that appeared to rival name brand machines in terms of cleaning.

A dream of mine is a full size Niagra.

The Japanese have these weird little top loaders that are like our portable top load washers - maybe slightly larger - that actually DRY as well. I saw them in Tokyo earlier this year. They use the impeller at the bottom to "tumble" the clothes around and they blow I think heated air over them. I'd imagine the clothes end up pretty wrinkled, but that's not much of a problem for me - I hang most stuff that would wrinkle after a few minutes in the dryer, and only dry things like sheets, towels and knits that either don't wrinkle or that I don't care if they wrinkle.

I thought it was an interesting "solution". Enough that I'd consider trying to import one of the things...if and when the tariffs finally go away.
