In the spirit of art for art's sake, a local artisan has turned his home into a mad, mad, mad, mad, dizzying world of tile, tile everywhere. He's like the Sarah Winchester of tile. I've seen some of his work before, as a ceramicist friend and neighbor has had him do tile work for her, and she also has some of his ceramic and pipe cleaner pieces indoors and out.
It's not for everybody, and very little of his ceramic or pipe cleaner work appeals to me, but you can't help but appreciate the time and effort that went into everything he produces. I do feel sorry for his house, and I hope it has been structurally reinforced.
I'm finally going with that same friend tomorrow to visit Ted and see his place in person. I'm bracing for overload.
