I can tell by the enthusiasm that some of you have not had to do serious cooking on a stove like this, nor tried to keep the push buttons beside the surface units free of glop. I had one of the later ones with the infinite controls above the cooktop. She was so beautiful and I babied her, but oh the potential for getting messed up. I was glad that I had two other stoves to use for tasks like boiling pasta in an uncovered pot or boiling jelly. On the Americana you would have water condensing on the bottom of the upper oven and on its door. Nothing was fried on the wonderful SensiTemp unit without a splash filter covering it. The ovens baked beautifully. The upper one always turned out perfect pound cakes. It still looked like new when I sold the house and really dressed up the kitchen. I am glad that the lady who bought the place is taking very good care of it.
