FABULOUS..
PRETTY IN PINK

But the price is actually in-line with what some restorers charge.

With no moving parts except hinges, timers, and sometimes gas-valves,vintage stoves/cookers are more sought-after (dare I day valuable?) than that there machine WE all like.

Well, one thing about it that was replaced was the bake element in the companion oven. That oven was deeper than the main oven and the original bake element would have looked like the bake element in the master oven in that it would have come out far enough to rest on the raised bumps at the front. When GE did that replacement, they also removed the ceramic terminal block because the bake and broil elements in both ovens were the plug in type. The slightly wider companion oven back then boasted the same 3000 watt broiler element with reflector that the master oven had and unlike the small broiler pan GE made for the narrow companion oven after this model, both broiler pans for this stove were the same size.

It must be the light that makes that pink look like Pepto Dismal because GE pink does not look like that. A friend years ago in Atlanta had one of these in woodtone brown in a house he bought. He had it looking like new but redid the kitchen and put in one of those 40" custom CROWN gas ranges. I wish I had been able to have him save that stove for me. Actually it might be nice to have that huge interitance land in my lap like it did his. Oh well; I'd rather be who I am than who he is and I consider myself one of the most richly blessed people anywhere because so many of my dreams have come to fruition.

I have two of these ranges in white and will probably restore one of them, but doubt I will use it like I did the earlier stoves we restored.

Very pretty, but not for that price. If it was a little cheaper I would consider it (and by "a little" I mean a lot).

At this time

In Auburn, Ca. (about a 30 minute drive from the frontal compound) is a "woodtone brown" GE 39er for under $200,
a tad skanky looking, but it would clean up nicely. I failed to mention that it's @ Salvation Army; at the GV store in frontalville is a rather fab Frigidaire Range 39/40"er in white with the convertible left rear sink burner, very nice,
a little bit of bendation to the Aluminum Flourescent tube
cover; probably down to $100 now. Good thing my haulomatic
is ailing!
