Hello everybody. Here are some pictures taken during our last wash in held during the last weekend of february. Useless to say we had great fun! Here are Riccardo and Enrico dismantling an Aeg Clara to change tub bearings...

Hey!

That's the Miele bottom rack for Italy, isn't it? The one which is extra well laid out for bigger pots?
Looked like you all were having fun. Thanks for sharing!
Wish you'd add comments to our threads more often, some of the most interesting vintage equipment is Italian.

Hi panthera! The machine was bought through ebay in Germany so it's a standard Germany equipment. Anyway it's identical to my G 696 machine I bought here in Italy. I also have a G 45. That is really vintage! I will try to post pictures of it when I get back to my little chalet in the woods...

Marco,

Hmm, it does seem deeper than mine - same series. I would not trade my Miele for anything. So much better built than anything else, washes so very very well. Do post pictures when you can!

I completely agree with you... I had a Bosch before this Miele and it washed well but not so good like the Miele. My other dishwasher is the G 1830, a great machine... Unfortunately most people here facing the problem of buying a new machine think that with the price of a Miele machine they can buy 4 ordinary diswasher or washers as well...

Congratulations to the Italian contingent on your Wash In

Wow looks like more fun that visiting some stuffy old museum or basilica LOL. Makes me miss my Miele even more :(
I think it was a G864, terrible now I can't remember but here's a pic too far away..that's a Kenmore garbage compactor sitting at the end of the cabinet..we gave it to the neighbors when we moved, it was already about 30 years old and used to be avocado green or coppertone till I painted it white.

It looks like you guys had a great time. Thanks so much for sharing the pictures!! Loved the one of Enrico in the machine. It reminded me of a old I love Lucy Show where Lucy was inside a TV.

I threw mine out

Mine washed just fine, but I like being able to wash pots and pans in the upper rack...something the Mieles do just as well as in the bottom rack. So I swapped the bottom rack with the cutlery holder for the flat rack at the top with a friend who liked them.
She is happy, I am happy.
Except for falling down the stairs, I have never had a problem....goodness, 24 years using Miele dishwashers!

Hello Ross, sure we would love to be at your wash in! I remember the first thing I did when I came in your beautiful country ,was opening the lid of my friend's washer and inserting a pencil to actuate the safety switch and see how it worked! Since the washer and dryer were in the bathroom he was completely unaware about what I was doing inside for a so long time... I can't remember the brand. Instead I remember the dishwasher very well. It was a Kitchen Aid Superba de luxe. Really superb! We hold the wash in in a small cabin I own in the woods surrounding Florence. The cabin is really small but there is enough space outside to hold the small amount of "junk" we carry during our meetings.
Pete your Miele seems a ten to fifteen years a go, isn't it. Did it have the third rack (cutlery tray)? I don't think I understood what a garbage disposal is... It looks like a small stove or a gas furnace to me.
Hi Gansky, all the Miele i owned used to have the third rack. We all in my family find it extremely useful. You don't have to mess with dirty cutlery or sharp knives. The space on the rack below is good enough to hold not so tall dishes or casseroles. Anyway you can adjust the eight of the second rack to suit your needs. The "perla" looks exactly the same as my G 1830 sci. It's extremely quiet and really doess a great job.
More photos about the wash in will be posted soon...

Hi Marco. I was in Florence many years ago. It is a beautiful city. A great place for a wash in. Sure hope we can all meet some day.
