Well, the alarm rang at 5 a.m. today and it was off and running to the local flea market to begin another season of raping and pillaging -- just kidding, of course.

Actually, it was fun to start the season off today. The weather was good, but the pickings were slim. Of course, I was in contact by cell phone with Rich (Perk-o-Prince) and his partner Chuck, although they tend to start off a little later than I do.

Anyway, I thought I'd share my early morning finds.

The first find was the Can-o-Matic combination can opener, clock, and timer. The can opener works perfect. The clock is a different story. Hopefully, I'll be able to get it going.

Sunbeam Carousel Rotisserie with Shishkabob attachment

What a cool find!
Steve Riley made Chicken in his Mom's one time as one as his main dishes.
Best chicken I have ever eaten!
Congrats!

Yes, as usual, we were just a phone call away from Ron when at the fleas! And, since he's usually home while we're still shopping, it's great to be able to have him look things up on eBay if we're looking to use something to help pay for our shopping habit! Of course, if we don't call in with progress reports on a regular basis, he gets a little testy!!

Here are a few of the things we gathered today. First, a GE magnetic switch vad pot. These seem to follow us like the Sunbeam rotisseries follow Ron!

And some avocado Kirby accessories that came with a few other vac goodies. We also picked up some more vintage Christmas stuff (as if we don't have enough already!!!), probably 150' of 14/2 wire w/ground ($20!!), and some other miscellaneous stuff.

Who else went to fleas this weekend???

I was at the fleamarket with grandma at 9:00 am this morning.
I spent less than $20 and got 8 lemons, 4 Avon Skin So Soft bodywashes, some lace doilies, a 9" Corningware blue cornflower pie plate, and a Hoover Convertible model 66.

Hey Sam,

Getting the most for the least is fun, isn't it???

My step-mother lives (w/o my father since he left us last year) in Irwin/North Huntingdon. My parents used to live in W. Newton. Are you anywhere near there?

Chuck

Chuck, those Kirby parts are for the Kirby Dual 80, really a nice machine and the only one Kirby ever did in green.

Chuck,

I love when I go and can find stuff dirt cheap.

Irwin/N.Huntingdon is a little over an hour away from me, if your are ever this way at the end of the week, and I have a Friday off we need to go to the Rogers, Ohio flea market.
It is so big it takes most of the day to look at everything, and well worth the drive.

Rogers

IIRC, that's not far over the PA line, right? If it's the same one I'm thinking of, we went there w/ my father and his wife something like 10-12 years ago. I remember it being quite large, and we bought a Singer Featherweight 221 there for $25!

If I'm thinking of the right one, we went to a shop called The Company Store after that. Great place! And there was a large antiques co-op nearby that was taken over by Roller Mills a few years back.

If we're out that way, we'll be sure to let you know!

Fleas havent began here yet to my knowledge. If theres any reason I would want something like a Blackberry it would be so I could look up things on Ebay etc while Im out thrifting and flea marketing. I cant phone home cause the one I live with has no interest :(

Rogers....

Funny, I called my step-mom a little bit ago for her birthday, and mentioned it to her. She remembered taking us, and it WAS about 10 years ago. Coincidentally, a couple she knows just mentioned going to the Rogers flea!

Timing!!!

Chuck
