Well, the age of miracles isn't past.
Today at St. Vinnie's, I scored not one, but two Farberware small electrics!
One is a No. 142 twelve-cup electric perk, identical to the one I use every morning. This gives me another spare, and it also can serve for decaf when company comes. Now that I've cleaned it, it's like new and it works perfectly. I hope the former owner enjoys their new Walmart drip machine....
The other is a good deal rarer - a No. 310-B ten-inch electric skillet. I have the twelve-inch one (with a second one on the way), but the ten has not been in my Farberstash. I've used them before, and they're a very useful size when one is, as they say, Not Attached.
The skillet has to have a new control, so I'm on the lookout for one. But again, happy day - I don't often find bargains like these. These beauties cost me all of $10, with two other small items thrown in. Nice when that happens!
Two stock shots - not my actual items - are below. Also, a photo of the control I need, should anyone happen to have a stash of them. The newer, all-black control does not work with these older pans:[this post was last edited: 8/8/2014-17:19]
