Its a Monitor Top you can live in!

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Looks like an early cabinet with a later unit on top. Unless they still made them with the nickel trim into the 30's. I had a two-door and my 1/2 ton pick-up was super stressed with it on the back. Can't even imagine moving a 3-door.

The seller could end up having to pay somebody to take it away!

Its not nickel, its Monel metal. I "think" they were making 3-door cabinets with Monel trim until maybe 1930-1931. They're so rare that I don't really have documentation on it. Hope someone saves this, its quite an uncommon piece.

The one that shouldn't get away.

I am toying with the idea of getting this if nobody else does. I have no idea what to do with it or how to get it. Anyone in the Cincinnati or Kentucky area want to help move it? How would you move it? Take off the top and put it on a platform?

This one shouldn't get away.

Chris, I went for it...

Feel free to oubid me. I am not sure that I want to move that thing! I do have a lift gate rated at 1000 lbs though. It weighs less that that!

Go for it!

I haven't got a truck really capable of moving it, I have no cart that can hold it, and I have no place to put it. I'm glad someone here is putting forth an effort to save it.

Just be careful moving it. The top lifts off and is HEAVY! The freezer comes with the top and care must be taken not to crush it. The cabinet is also really heavy but is a bit less fragile.

Glad it can be saved,
Dave

Everyone starts out with a 1 at some point. The interior of that fridge is a porcelain enameled box, not much goes wrong in there.

Yes, it's going to be heavy. I've had good luck finding help locally to assist me. That top is only 185 lbs. It's the cabinet that concerns me!

If I get it, I'll climb inside and pose for a picture.

In the past 24 years this is the 2nd one I have seen .

These are rare - The 1st one I saw had a replacement monitor top - You very seldom see the early exposed coil tops - Guess the 1st ones didn`t hold up to well.

My favorites will always be the early exposed coil monitor tops.

Ugh!

Who has spread the rumor that the compressors must stay upright. It's simply not true, just don't be overly rough or damage a line.
