After the Bendix escapade, I found a dryer that I wanted in Fairborn, but it came with a washer. I've been looking for a second dryer to go with the 806 set, because with my hectic work schedule, I tend to have to do laundry all at once on a Sunday, and since it takes about half the time to wash as to dry...it works for me. Anyway. I picked the machines up. First is a large capacity Fabrimatic, nothing special. That's the "foster" machine. If anyone is interested, let me know. If not I may have a friend interested. It has a cracked lint filter and is missing the fabric softener cup. The tub needs cleaned as it looks like it may have some calcium deposits inside. I remember my grandparents in Fairborn having problems with calcium build-up in their coffee makers as a kid.

I was expecting a 700 series, but I was pleasantly surprised

It's a little scuffed and whatnot...but it's 50s (I think) or early 60s? I don't know my early Maytags that well, because Dave rarely talks about them.

How much energy does it take when you use the 110 minute cycle? I guess that's if you're pairing it with a wringer.

Heh, that 641c looks like a familiar model, lol. Actually, the 641c is pretty much identical to the 700. They even share the same timer, switches, ect. 641c was around from '57-'61. Judging by the newer "M" emblem and grey timer dial, this is probably a '60/'61

Finding that 302448 door gasket will be a real challenge as they're extremely scare. I have a couple of NOS ones, but they'll be used on the DE701 and the DE750 (the 750's gasket is MIA).

OLD HOH MT DRYERS

The 110 minute timer was there mainly for running the dryer on 120 volts. I have a pink gas one like yours that needs a home Jason will post pictures shortly, its in great shape even still has the sales label on the top. If you have natural gas in your home its a much more environmentally sound way to dry clothes, its half the cost as well. I always find little things in life add up to real money over the long run. If a family of four buys a gas dryer instead of an electric one in aprox five years the dryer will be free and it will keep on saving for the next 20 years or so. Just think if there was an option you could buy on your next car that would make the ownership of it free with out giving up any size or performance wouldn't everyone buy it ?.

Can you just bring that pink dryer to Cleveland as well? We can't hook up any more electric dryers because our electric panel can't handle any more 220 lines. I'd kill for a pink machine.
