It's DVD time again...

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

HI ROBERT!

i really want to contribute to the site and buy your video! i would gladly pay a yearly membership fee as this site has given me so much! i have new friends, some who i talk to by e mail or phone frequently, some who i keep in touch with here.
i also have a new hobby thanks to you and this site! i always loved old appliances, especially dishwashers but never thought i would be a collector and have a house full! my living room has no furniture now! just 5 rollermatics and 3 frigidaire dryers at the moment! my big bedroom has now become my "workshop" storage room and i moved myself into my little spare bedroom! my kitchen/dining area has 9 dishwashers in it! all thanks to automatic washer .org!

but my question to you is this. do you have any other videos available to choose from other than the kelvinator one you listed. possibly anything with frigidaire, or norge 'time line' perhaps?

nothing against kelvinator, i just never really paid any attention to them, i am a die-hard frigidaire and hobart lover!

if not i will go ahead and order the kelvinator video using pay pal (which always works well). i'm sure it will be quite entertaining and i'll learn something no doubt, i just hope i don't develop a fondness for kelvinators, i have no more room or hobby funds left to take on a new brand!

thanks

pete

my living room has no furniture now!

Fabulous Pete, besides

living room furniture is sooooo overrated.

Just hold off on the Montgomery Ward DVD if Norge machines aren't your thing. I'm going try and work on a Frigidaire DVD soon, I'm thinking the Pulsamatic is going to be the next in line. My goal is to have it broadcasted on the History Channel, I wonder what kind of ratings it would get? LOL

it would have to be at least an "R" rating

due to all the pulsating shown in the video!

oh what the hell, i'll go ahead and take a kelvinator video, it might be awhile before you get the frigidaire pulsamatic done and i wanna show my support here!

i spend more than the price of your video on much less "wholesome" entertainment on the web anyway on occasion, it won't hurt me to shell out the 25 bucks here! i'm sure i will enjoy it! but when you do get a frigidaire or norge video ready to go count me in!!!

Montgomery Ward Show!

Excellent show and thanks much for the video. I know the machine because my Grandmother had one like this but hers was somewhat more upscale. Not TOL but maybe the next one down with a lighted dial and seperate speed control. It had a soak cycle also. The norges were big into soaking at that time. I just didn't like the loud syloinoids. But on the very later models maytag removed the loud clunks after they were bought out. I remember my Aunt being impressed with this machine and she was thinking about buying one when she moved. But I talked her into a 1/18 instead. It's ashame they don't make machines like this anymore. Thank you Robert for a great show!

Robert:
When you made the video I noticed quite a bit of lint in the filter pan. Was this a Hollywood prop or did it really collect that amount? I don't get very much at all in mine and always wondered if the burpalator was more gimmick than effective.

No Hollywood prop here Bobby, what you see was the actual lint that was caught by the filter pan exactly as it was spit out by the burp-a-lator. Maybe those towels were extra linty??? Does you agitator spit up water as powerful as the one in the video?

Robert, yes it does. I tend to underload, so maybe there is just not so much friction on the clothes. Greg gave me a sweet Norge from the same vintage as the Mongomery Ward that has a broken piece from the top of the agitator. It gives you a good quirt in the eye if the fabric softener dispenser isn't on!

Just Ordered Mine!

I just took the plunge. Can't wait to see it!

Robert, maybe you should start a Washflix site modeled after Netflix.

Heres's an idea for an AWESOME dvd...the rebuilt, one-step-at-a-time and repair of a Maytag Dependable HELICAL DRIVE Transmission. I'd buy it for sure.

I'm working on it......well, working out the details for it, anyway.

I'll be posting mine up for all to see.....for free!

International Delivery..!!

By Her Majestys HRH Royal Mail...and working fine as well on the computer, great job there Robert and very interesting machine, that is one heck of a braking mechanism!!!

So its just one portion of the agi base that has the holes in it, am assuming this sucks in the water and pushes it through the top!!

Cheers, Mike

Glad you enjoyed the DVD Mike, I'm surprised that a DVD made in the US plays well in DVD players in Europe. I thought PAL and NTSC players were not compatible. Maybe the DVD players over there are dual format?

Hi Robert,

I ordered mine on the weekend, so I'm looking forward to its arrival.

In the PAL world, most devices in the last 10 years are Dual format PAL/NTSC, more often than not they can also include SECAM.

Our Latest DVD recorder auto detects the format and switches appropriately as does the TV, it'll be interesting to see what happens now that Digital TV is taking over as the US and Europe and Australia still have incompatible formats. Luckily for now, a US DVD should always output in NTSC.

qsd-dan, will it be downloadable, because I'd want to ha

That's one of the details I'm working out. I really don't want to put it up on youtube at 10 min per a clip. That's just too much editing to make it work out and flow.

Robert

The DVD arrived during my vacation in good order. It's great! No problem here playing it, when I bought a DVD player I made sure it was one that played NTSC as well as PAL. Nowadays I don't think you will find a DVD player here that doesn't play NTSC, even my cheap TV/DVD combo plays it.

I guess the internet stimulated the possibility of playing NTSC, my 8 year old Sony VCR plays NTSC tapes too. The somewhat older Sharp that I have doesn't.

Thanks for making this video!!

Hey Buddy, I just sent you the mooluh $$. Thanks for doing t

I've been away so long. Did you really get the Apex? I'm not succeeding in the search. If you get a chance could you tell me the relevant thread numbers. So happy for you!

Your story about the day of the Apex pick-up made my skin prickle and my stomach flutter--when the washer was suddenly GONE. A perfect washer tale.

The spinspraypowerflushrinseorgy may be the coolest washer move I've ever seen. Unbelievable.

You must make the next DVD "The Apex Orgy of Rinsing." I'll pay double.

Thank you for the work and finding the links; it's nice to be home again.

In the spirit of Apex over-the top water dramatics, here's a Unimatic over-sudsing.

(no link, please ignore)
