My black Maytag Bravos steam dryer finally arrived today! On my birthday too! :D

It's a HUGE dryer, very very quiet, and GORGEOUS!!!! I had to remove the back panel, the vent tube, and the water valve in order to get it to fit through the door! It was a big pain and a lot of work but WORTH IT!!! I love this dryer! More pics to follow shortly!

Congratulation on your new dryer. Could you tell us more about its performance.

congrats!

what a dream machine! love the lights, the display and all that.
I wish I could get hold of one of these, too.
A Cabrio style washer and a dryer, all in black. (Now do I sound too much like Audrey? Sorry ;-))
What a dream.
Cabrio gods be kind! *praying*

Congratulations to your find. Enjoy and have fun with it.
Joe

Happy birthday!!!! And as for the dryer I find it to be sexy! Can a appliance be sexy? It actually invokes the thought of abandoning line drying and tumble dry everything!!!!

Well, it's official.

I have a new favorite dryer ever. It has all the capacity of a 29 inch Whirlpool and the convenience and performance of a 27 inch Whirlpool and then some! My favorite dryer ever up to this point was the 27 inch Whirlpool machine.

The machine is VERY quiet and smooth. It's also very quick! I love the window and the drum light! If you turn the drum light on during the cycle, it'll stay on until the cycle is done! I was a little worried about the giant blower making it loud but it seems even quieter than the regular Whirlpool machines!

The first load that came out of it, a load of towels, came out VERY soft and extremely fluffy, as you can see in the pic below!

I love the controls! They are flexible without becoming overly complicated. I dry everything on either medium or low heat and the Normal cycle only lets you toggle between those 2 temperatures which is PERFECT for me! It also remembers the last settings you used on a cycle and automatically comes on with those settings in place from the last time you used a specific cycle. I love all the cute little beeps and tones it plays while you set things!

My only pet peeve with this dryer, which is very minor and easily dealt with, is that the dryness levels are different from what I'm used to. If you want things to be dry, as in completely and throughout, you need to select "more" on the dryness level. There are 5 settings though so it's not much of an issue: damp, less, normal, more, and very dry.

Jamie, first of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY.  It's hard to believe I met you almost 9 years ago this summer!!  2nd of all, I noticed the dryer windows (with the light on showing it's square dimension) reminded me very much of the Kelvinator/AB-O-Matic dryer which Lighted Controls has in pink, the set.  That dryer window was pretty much the same shape as what is viewable on this dryer.  3rd did you notice in the manual you are able to adjust degree of dryness--increase it by 30% (I think last time I looked), which may rseult in the dryenss level you are expecting from a "normal" dryness setting.  4th  That is a very beautiful dryer.  Bob

Happy Birthday! SWEET DRYER!! Where is the lint trap at? In the front of the door? It doesn't look like a typical Whirlpool set up, and I know nothing about the new MTs.

Thanks for Sharing

I am thrilled you have the ability to buy all the latest new machines I can't afford but wonder if they're an improvement.  Even cooler is how you trip the safety switch and let us all watch while you video.  Truly I admire how hard you work and all you're able to accomplish for a man so young.

It sure is pretty...it's a shame they don't use a stainless steel drum.
Shiny stainless & black would look top notch.
Best of luck.

Happy B-Day!
