July is in the record books as the coldest in recorded history here in Michigan. Saw reports that the average temp was about 67 degrees, that's the high and low combined and averaged. Some reports I've seen indicate that the 6 or 7th coldest July have occurred since the 90's. Interesting trend, not sure I like it, but it sure does cut the electricity use.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear the same thing about my neck of the woods. This state is a little too big and varied to manage an across-the-board coldest July but in the Bay Area we've definitely had "June gloom" carry over into July and now even August. September usually holds the real dog days but I'm not even going to speculate. Since we're dealing with a drought situation though, it's all good.

I hear ya.. Now they're saying we're not even going to get a back to normal August this year and it's probably going to stay unsettled and cooler. Today was supposed to be a high of 84 but I doubt we're going to get anywhere near that with all the wind that's blowing today. What I really don't like are the cool evenings and nights. I like to stay up late and sit out on the deck etc and walk out in the morning with my coffee to warm toasty weather but it's been downright chilly most days. This morning I almost had to put a sweater on just to sit out and have my coffee, weird.

Here in Lexington KY it was the 2nd coldest July on record. In Louisville it's the first July ever since record keeping that the city never reached 90 degrees. It's been rainy and stormy a lot this summer here.
So much for global warming, huh?
I do like the cool nights that the marine influence provides here. If nothing else, we've had excellent sleeping weather for the better part of the summer.

West central Pennsylvania has been cool too, and I love it! Don't have air conditioning, so this old farmhouse gets mighty stuffy on hot and humid days. The low temperatures in the 50s have made sleeping this summer a pleasure.
I would be happy with 68-70 degrees with no humidity every day in the summer.
I'm enjoying every day of it now, for next summer, I may be sweating putty balls.
We've been getting quite a lot of rain as of late too, and hope that helps those of us who have wells.
