It's Raining Kenmores!

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support AutomaticWasher.org:

Greg, I love those Kenmores with the pastel colors on the dials. It's been along time since I've seen a Kenmore with a pink wash n wear cycle. I wish you had found it before the convention. I would have loved to do a load in it.

Cool Down care

I think on my grandma's it just filled and did partial drain. Again, we thought it was broke so I put it back on the Normal cycle. I didn't realize it was supposed to do that.

Peter's right, one can never have too many Kenmores.

Roto Swirl

Hi Greg. Nate just left for 1 week's vacation. He could not get his Kenmore to spin and was getting frustrated so he decided to leave it till he gets back. I am sure he would have liked his machine to be in this condition.

Now here's my idea!

Greg, since your space is limited, you need to give ME the 906 Maytag, and put this lovely Kenmore in it's space! See, problem solved!!! (LOL!!!) Mark

Thanks for the offer guys, we'll consider all options for making more space around here!

"Curiosity once killed a cat..." I used the W-N-W cycle today with a load of rags. Sequence is: Wash - normal speed, drain 30 sec. - slow speed, fill, drain - slow speed, fill, drain - normal speed, slow spin & sprays, then into rinse. There was no agitation during cool-down fills, just fill and then right back into drain. Seems like the only things that would get cooled down are the inlet flume and top edge of the spin basket. Just as I suspected, waste of time and water!

Yep, that's the OLD sequence combination. Well, maybe next to the oldest. I think the OLDEST would have a shift to gentle agitation last 4-6 mins. of wash, do the above sequence combination, and rinse on gentle.

It surprised me when I saw the '64 LK in action, because I thought the agifill method didnt come into play until the '65 redesign.

Kenmore Model 70

This was my parents first automatic washer which was purchased in 1963. It washed the clothes well. However, either it was a lemon or a piece of junk. In five years time three water pumps, a timer control and a motor were replaced. My father was a mechanic who worked for GM and was able to do the repairs. However, he got tired of all the repairs and replaced the machine with a Frigidaire Jet Action Rapid Dry 1000 machine. Since the, our family never purchased a Sears product. My grandmother bought the same machine, and it did last a little longer.
