And I thought you lot were my friends! No one noticed or even said a thing. *sniff*

Did a bit of housecleaning today and while attempting to find places for my rapidly growing collection of Maytag conventional washer agitators. With the two black Bakelite ones next to each other it struck me; that Speed Queen/Maytag wringer washer parts guy out west had done it to me.

Notice the difference between the one purchased from him:

And recent arrival that came damaged:

It was threads like this that one recalled and got to thinking:

And especially this one: http://www.automaticwasher.org/cgi-bin/TD/TD-VIEWTHREAD.cgi?36591

The one sent from out west while an "lint filter agitator" is not for wringer washers, but Maytag automatics. I've been had! No wonder that guy took down his CL advert.....

Cannot believe someone who billed himself as a Maytag wringer service person did not know the difference. Another easy give away that one came to realize today is that the "west coast" agitator does not have a marking for water line like the recently arrived (but damaged).

What a mercy didn't spend good money after bad sending this thing up to Phil in Ovid to have spline inserted. Or worse put time, effort and possibly more money into doing the job myself.

If one knew where to lay hands on the guy he may be one of the first men in history admitted to hospital to have a piece of laundry equipment extracted from a body cavity.

Now have to decide what to do with the thing. Cannot have it lying about spare haunting me forever. At least have the spline and the filter; maybe will try to sell parts on to at least get back some money.

More G&T's, Please

A sad series of circumstances indeed.

I hope the epoxy job holds on the correct agitator.  All too often, common sense is an attribute among shippers that is sorely lacking.
