And about goshts, what about your Olivetti Lettera typewriter ??

Really wasn't aware that Olivetti typewriters were known also there :o

Today is just a bit more than a badge. Part of the company (cell phones network provider) has gone to Vodafone through Omnitel....

You Can Be Sure If It's Westinghouse?

Sounds like a value brand nowadays. Are these really White Westinghouse products or are they made by other companies foreign or American? Looking at the front load washer, what does it mean by a "Alliance Style Door?" Or, is that an error for "Appliance Style Door?" Thought I heard a Menards ad for White Westinghouse.--Laundry Shark

In the USA, Olivetti bought up Underwood and went through a series of name changes: Underwood Olivetti, Olivetti Underwood and finally, just Olivetti. They made typewriters and other office machines in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in a factory designed by the iconic Louis Kahn:

Since the typewriters were made in the USA, they could use the advertising tag line "Olivetti: The American Dream Machines."

My avatar image comes from a racy (for 1972) ad campaign featuring NFL football player Joe Namath. Click the link to see the TV spot. I think Broadway Joe's machine is from the top-o'-the-line Editor series.
