The woes of no constant rinse!

Eddie, doesn't the water manifold in your 20 have the slit in it to spray water out over the dishes? I know I showed it you when you were here. It would be interesting to see if those members that have the 21 and up series suffer yibble syndrome. The better filtration system should have eliminated most of that problem.

Oh, My Dear Darlin' Baby Jesus !!!

No. you never showed me that( and it was way too early in the day for Cocktail Time) and Yes, it's there.  I never noticed it and then again... now that I know it's there, it certainly is not effective.

There is something about the "Spritzer" being on the Center of the Chamber that I found more effective then that "Slit".

After all... wasn't it Hobart that stated the theory "Either the Water has to move or the Dishes." ???  Well, engineering must have been on the last hour of design on a Friday or smoked some really good Kush when they came up with a "Slit" to replace the Constant Spritzer. . LOL.  Yeah, you can't break that but I have seen similar gimmicks like in a Bosch if I'm not mistaken.

Even my KenWhirl with the Crappy Top Rack that I can't adjust to get Larger things like mixing Bowls and other Larger Vessels has a Dribbler on the top that manages to get most off. Not all... like the Original Constant on the 17 and 18 series KitchenAids that were Hobart Built.

I had used a RR a few times and liked it.  I couldn't pass on a machine like the Jenn with practically no use.  So it was there and I bought it.  I know Ken is surveilling my house. LOL.

KD-18 Style Constant Rinse

You can add it to your KDS-20 by drilling a few holes and using KD-18 parts, I do agree Eddie that the Slit in the feed tube was a nice thought but it sure did not work as well as a moving arm in the center.

I used my KDSS-20 for almost 10 years in my kitchen, and I always wanted to take a main wash pump from something like an Asko or Bosch DW and plumb it into the water feed line under the DW going to the top rack, I feel that if there was a lot more water pressure you would be able to wash most of the little stuff off from below.

The water feed line in the KD-18 through KD-23 was just to convoluted to get enough water to the top arm IMEO, on my 1987 WP DW with the center feed tube I almost never have anything on top of coffee mugs and it has no top wash system at all.

Well Now...

Looks like Whirlpool is looking back to the Maytag Roots.

Don't these Needle Spray Jets look a little familiar... And in the first pic some are clogged already

Filter System doesn't look like a food chopper.

And that Coarse Filter in the Door certainly makes easy access... Oh wait, that's a Silverware Basket.

LOL !!!

Epic Find! :)

Those are among some of my favorite Dishwashers. I perosnally have a great admiration for the reverse rack system. Id take the modern version in a hearbeat if it were avaliable. Its easier to load and unload with an added advantage of no dripping down when unloading the top rack first. In fact the way I cook and use dishes I often find my bowls tend to be dirtier then my plates, so having those items in the bottom rack is great without taking up space for dishes like most other machines.
