Hi All

Just loaded the pics fron Jons visit to Chester this week, didnt manage to hit the computer, so busy doing tourist stuff and wash-ins on his quick stop..

We managed to get my latest Bendix going, Bertha sounds FAB after the oil change, MINT bearings...(Slaapp) just need a new spin clutch solanoid, this was lasted about 5 seconds on test...other than that just a new waste hose...

When we went to test the Bendix I plugged it in using and RDC plug, the mains has a trip as well but with 240v I play safe...I had one hand on the plug and one on the bendix controls, John (my appliance buddy from Birmingham) and Jetcon Jon where leaning on the machine looking into the back...I suddenly felt a big tingle sensation down my leg and screamed, (rather loudly) the other two followed suit thinking I`d had an electric shock....turned out it was my mobile phone on vibrate...we where still laughing at dinner...

John from Brum brought over the UK Frigidaire Spinner that we have been searching ages for, so Jons rather pleased he got to see it first when I did...this pulls 1132 g force with a kool blue drum.

He went to bed armed with the Which (CU) reports and the Tech Manual for the Hoover Keymatic...thats dedication...and I now have a washer dryer manual courtesy of Jon to study..

Jon wanted to try English Fish & Chips, so along with mushy peas and lots of bread & butter (chip butties...yum) washed down with a fine white wine...LOL

We had a fine morning walking the Chester Roman walls, coming across a real Roman Gladiator in action, and capped it all surfing the isles of Tesco, purchasing loads of powder which is winding its way back to him across the pond...

Enjoy the show....

Wonderful pics Mike - thanks for posting all those for us! It looks like you guys had a great time, what a beautiful city Chester is! I'm going to have to fly over and see my road! Just looking at the pictures gives you more of a 'sense' of history that is really valued. Here we smash it down and put up a parking lot! ;-)

Your collection looks great too, I love the two levels of the garage display space - what a great idea. I can just hear you all screaming, too funny!

Thanks again for sharing with us! Greg

Awesome Pics Mike!
Thanks so much for posting.
So glad that Jon was able to spend time with you, in your neck of the world!
I had no idea that you had that many machines! You have such a collection. Really, really nice stuff.
What was Jon looking at there in the market???
Was it a box of "Super Maxi's?"
Jon and some will get that.
Brent

The pictures are just fabulous you guys. Mike I love your Dobule-Decker laundry area, hmmm I think I'm going to have to start thinking about stacking machines myself. Chester does look wonderful, I wish I could have been there.

Yes Brent, I was thinking the same thing, I think Jon was in the wrong isle at the supermarket, of course maybe he had already been down that isle and filled his cart.

Hi Jon! Hope you had a most wonderful time in England. Perhaps you've been before, but isn't it a glorious place!

Is that detergent picture taken at Tesco? I remember that aisle well!

What Mike, you didn't ferry Jon over to Liverpool for some of those funky little sardines they referred to as fish and chips, like we had for lunch that day over there? ;-)

Great pictures Mike, thanks for posting!! Looks like ya'll had fun...wish I had been there for the food, machines, detergents, & smoothies!! The picture of Jon in front of the Keymatic really helps put it in proportion...very cute machine!!!

Oh Mike, Thanks so much for sharing all those wonderful pictures with us. I loved the background music with the slide show, so relaxing. Chester is such a beautiful place one that I will look forward to seeing some tiime, so much different from what we see around this area. It looks like you guys had such a fun time. I loved the picture of the Gladitator with the children all around him. I am sure they had a million questions. That little Frigidaire spinner sure looks neat. Is that a Kenwood mixer that I see on your counter? Glad that you guys had such a great time. Terry

Spooky and Fun

How spooky are those clock pics, the hands of time on the clocks are completly reversed .....Ooooaaah....

Had a fab time, and when we are taking visitors around the city you only appreciate it even more through visitors eyes....you can take so much for granted....

I`ll post a seperate thread for the Frigidaire Spinner, it deserves it!!!

and Terry, yes its the Kenwood Major 1970`s mixer, 700watt beasty, SS bowls as well as glass & acrylic, along with the Liquidiser, (which I cracked, (Glass - awaiting one from ebay)so we did the smoothies in the Philips...I warned Jon the Philips was a dolls house blender compared to the Vita-Mix but he thought it powered fine...or was he being polite??

I`m starting to get a complex about the Keymatic, a few of you have mentioned it...LOL..Let me tell you size isnt everything...actually the Keymatic is 22 inchs wide and takes 8lb of washing....Bertha Bendix is 30 inches wide and only takes a pound more!!..interesting

Dont get the Super Maxi`s bit, are they giant Mars Bars??

Mike looks like ya'll must have had much fun. Thanks for showing the photo's. Those "spinners" look interesting. How many types of those are available today on the new market in the U.K. Wish we had more of them available here in the "States".

Thanks Mike for all the information. I bet that Kenwood mixer is a real work horse. I bet that we could whip up some great treats with that. Will look forward to seeing more pictures and details about the Frigidaire Spinner. Terry

Someone is going to be Maxied for sure!

SLAAAP!
I was not in the wrong aisle , someone else was. And that someone knows who he is.

Your're right Mike how spooky the hands on that clock are. I got the morning tour and Scott the afternoon tour.

I had no idea people used me as a scale factor for the Keymatic. Am so glad I got to read the service manual for that machine I wish I could work on it with you too.

Cheers
jon
