Yes Chuck, that is exactly what they are. The woman in that booth yelled at me for snapping that pic. She was the only one at Brimfield that did not want me to take any pics. She stated that someone in the past snapped some photos of her displays, and later they were found on the internet.....someone stealing her 'decorating' ideas.
I apologized, and moved on my way...only to keep snapping more photos of the fabulous BRIMFIELD.

Price Gouging
I bought and sold appliances and 50's kitchen ware for 15 years in a small store called Chrome on the Range. I scrounged thrift stores and chased the aid car to the estate sale. One of my best "pickers" drove a dump truck and he called me everytime he had a garage full. Ebay dried up both supply and demand and I never enjoyed evilbay experience.
The going rate on a self lowering Sunbeam today is 35.00 to 95.00 depending on condition and location.
The way to clean a toaster is to run it trhough the dishwasher and then polish off any water spots afterward. Painted mixers clean perfectly with 3-M Adhesive remover. I never used polish on anything I sold because of etching that can occur. It is up to the buyer to decide how he/she wants to finish the appliance. I sold them in a maximized original state.
There was neglible expense in supplies and it was a labor of love or I would never done it. I kept a parts inventory from donor models and replaced cracked handles, burned switches and pieces is parts, etc.
Some people truly gouge the ignorant. As Toggles says, you can only charge what the market will bear.

What you say is also true Kelly.......
But that still does not mean everyone who sells restored small appliance is out to gouge people. Also the price you get for something depends on where you live too! For example I have seen a couple of restored Sunbeam T-20's sell for $125 at the local Deco show here in Washington DC. My main point was that when A person does not now what goes into restoring a vintage appliance (whether large or small) they shouldn't just asssume that the seller is goona rip them off.
