Gorgeous! Those Grillevators worked so well you could actually roast a turkey in that compartment without burning it up!

Price is somewhat less than if the stove was on the East Coast.

"Everyone who sees it wishes they had the cash to drive it away..." Then, perhaps you want too much for it? It certainly is pretty and would make quite a POP in most drab kitchen designs!

L, the Chambers ranges had 40lbs of rock-wool insulation around the oven allowing the user to "Cook with the gas turned off" once the oven was up to temperature. Maytag Dutch Ovens also touted this feature. Chambers had the deep-well cooker in theirs and the stove top griddle and broiler combo. O&M had the Grillevator broiler among other features.

I had a Maytag Dutch Oven and was mostly annoyed with the oven, there was a 40 pound steel plate in the bottom of the oven which took at least 30-40 minutes to heat up and get the oven up to the desired temperature. Once the oven did reach temp, it was very even and steady but for quick baking of cookies, cakes, muffins, etc., it added a lot of waiting time to the process. I'm sure the Chambers would be similar in operation.

L, presuming you are a friend of Mrs. Fowler then it's quite understandable that you wouldn't know the first thing about stoves. How about a pic of those Jungle Red nails?

I came across an O&M with Grillevator at the SA not long ago. I really wanted it but it was pretty well used so I passed. I know the right stove will find me one day and it will be l'amour, l'amour.
