Well since today is a snow day, I decided to put some time into cleaning the hoover 115 junior up!

Here she is! All purdy and clean.

It runs like a champ. Smooth and quiet with that typical powerful beating sound.

The tools that made this possible are visible in the background! The Royal prince 501, and the always awesome (but in need of service!) Filter queen Majestic triple crown.

Underside.

It was a bit rusty so I took some steel wool over it all. Now it looks pretty good but not perfect.

Next to big brother, the model 28.

As you can see the model 28 suffered a tragic accident. I was rearranging my closet when the compact floor polisher came crashing down and scratched the side of the 28.

I almost cried. before the base was so close to mint, now its got a few big scratches in the paint.
UGH!

Just be glad it didn't crack the hood.  The paint can be touched up, but a hood in good condition might hard to find, I think.

Very true. Although it does already have a crack in it near the pedal. The only real flaw on the hood.

I want the metal 28 hood.

Odowds vacuum shop has about 8 hoover 28s, and a few 305s, but they all have the bakelite hoods. Some of them are flawless. Might take one for my 28. Also a few original bags.

He just wont part with parts of a machine. Only entire machines. Better save up $50 for one!
