Nice But Complicated DW

This is a 23 series DW [ the 24 series had SS tubs and were the first KA DWs that were fully a WP design ]

These DWs had a lot of nice features but even though they had a version of the WP Power-Clean pump overall the DW did not perform quite as well as the WP PC DWs of the same time period.

This was because KA had to use less water and make less noise than the WP versions because KA was trying to compete with Asko, Miele, and Bosch on water consumption and noise.

I had this model with the delay option. I was not very impressed with its cleaning ability. I always had food left on something. I do hope your machine performs much better than mine.

I had made a deal for it for $20 earlier in the day and was on my way to pick it up this evening. The pictures are actually from a Craigslist add. After John told me about the water restrictions, I told the guy I was going to have to decline and headed back home. I will hold off untill I find a power clean model that uses more water.

Those are excellent dishwashers.I prefer the Kitchenaid Kud 21 I think they are the
best dishwashers ever made. The only dishwasher with a full blown disposal in it not some blender blade. If you have never had a old Kitchenaid try one you will fall in love with it.
Whirlpool Powerclean dishwashers are my number 2 favorite , I like the wash arms in the Kitchendiad better than the Whirlpool and I was never much of a fan of the silverware in the door...

Nice find John!

Looks like the same model on the back cover of my Kitchen Aid stand mixer cook/manual book showing kitchen built in appliances. It's from 1991.

Hopefully this model has the sprayer on the very top of the machine to get rid of particles on top of the glasses. I did have one that looked somewhat similar that did NOT have the sprayer on top and it left anything in the top rack with particles all over them. I did not find it a terrific machine and replaced it about a year later with a reverse rack Maytag that I had for quite a while. The Maytag was the best cleaner I had up to that point and it had the forced fan drying too. Good machine.
