What is the craziest thing you have used your washer or dryer for? What I mean is, "what alternate uses have you found for your washer/dryer?" I remember going to a party once, many years ago, and there were some guys making spagetti in their Mom's washer with the setting on "Hot" of course. I didn't stick around for the meal but it was hilariuos to say the least. I, myself, would have opted for Ramen Noodles in that hot water. At least the cook time would be minimum ya know?

My noodles always taste like Downy

That's a good way to keep the noodles from sticking. I wouldn't want to take a bite of spaghetti and get a blob of lint, though. I think if you want to make a pasta boiler, you'd better have a machine dedicated to that purpose from the start :-P

Alternative uses for a washer...

Well....

Some years back when I was more into canning and preserving, I frequently used my washer ( hotpoint - with the removable heavy duty agitator - leaving the gentle one ) to wash such things as a bushel of green beans, or spinach, prior to preping them for canning. More than once have used the spin cycle for drying salad greens ( in a pillowcase or two ) if preparing massive amounts of greens for such... Agreed it sounds a little crazy - and I probably woulden't want just anyone to know about it - but it worked just fine.

I used to give parties more often,

and when my washer has been installed in the kitchen, I put ice and the beverages in the washer.

When the party was over, and the drinks gone, I easily spun out the water..and didn't have to wrestle with those galvanized tubs.

Newcomers were always mildly startled when an oldtimer would open the lid to the washer and pull out a diet Coke.

I've read about poaching foil wrapped fish in the upper rack of the dishwasher, but I have never tried that. Mostly because I don't usually care for poached fish.

Wash, spin, and eat.......

Ok Guys:

Remind me not to do laundry at your houses! I would come out smelling like Granny's Sunday Dinner! LOL
