Just Listed a Frigidaire Kant Slide Griddle on Ebay

Since I won't be able to use this baby anymore on my new to me stove that's arriving Saturday, I decided to part with it. I've held onto it through 3 stoves, ever since I got it with an avocado green Frigidaire Custom Imperial years ago, but it just wont work with my new Corning Counter That Cooks, so time to let it go to someone who can use it. Thought I would let you guys know, since almost all of us seem to have vintage stoves here, lol.

I saw one of those at a thrift store a while back but didn't know what it belonged to, so I passed on it.

Wow i had forgotten all about this griddle. my mother had one that came with our new i think 66 stove. she used that all the time. what i clearly remember is touching the handles on the side once and only once while it was hot. those handles were not insulated and just as hot as the rest of it. thanks for the memories.

Mother had that one too.  Used it all the time on her right front burner on her two Oven Flair.  It is the one with the sensi burner.  Made it like a big electric skillet.  I liked the brolier pan Frigidaire had too the double one with the no splatter sides.

It really is an awesome griddle, but because of the little ridge on the bottom that fits around the burner to keep it from sliding around, I won't be able to use it on my new stove. I'm in a rather fruitless search at the moment for a griddle as good as this one, but with a smooth bottom, for use on the new stove. Seems that everything I find is either super thin, or coated in teflon, or both. It seems odd that corning never made a griddle, I would buy one in a heartbeat.

Well.... I have the griddle from the'59 CI, it's more oblong and over the years the small little feet have all broken off, no problem on a smooth top stove.  Don't recall using it on our old Corning ware stove, it had one large rear burner for non-flat pots the other 3 needed the special ground flat cookware.
