Well, it sort of makes sense. There probably are a lot of people who shop K Mart who use coin operated laundries. I remember in the 80s my parents shopped at a Fred Meyer (one time NW one stop shopping center with everything from groceries to hardware) that had a coin operated laundry attached. (May have been a seperate business--there were a few there.) It seemed to do OK judging from what I saw walking past.

The link this goes back to has a comment saying this will put out the mom & pop laundromats. I disagree that a large corporation would put many of them out.
If they can have a clean, efficient laundry system, let them do it. Laundromats are extremely expensive to start up and requires a lot of capital and time not to mention needing people around to make sure the customers needs are met.
If you must use a laundromat, location, cost, and cleanliness are the most important things. If the Kwash is 2 miles away and there is one just a block away, you'll go to the closer one especially if you have to walk or taking public transportation.
If Kwash can raise the standards of what a good laundromat should be, then it's fine. I doubt that K-Mart or Kwash will be some force.

Having experienced the various potent aromas in the local Kmart checkout lines, I think this is a great idea.
An even better idea might be to have a sort of car wash setup in a few special checkout lines, with big rotating brushes and spray body wash/shampoo that would saturate the client, and then blow them dry before they reach the register.
It should be free.
Even better, have sniffers at the entrances (like they have to detect explosives at airports) and redirect the great unwashed to a body wash line before they are allowed to enter the store.

The last time was a year ago. The time before that was about 2 years before. The last time before that was "I have no idea--it's been so long!"
It may have been the K Mart I visited last year, but the only likable part of the visit was leaving. Frankly, the only thing they had that I can think of that might entice me to go back is Foca and Roma. Which, if I shopped around, I could probably find elsewhere.

Drather go to KMart than WalMart.The KWash sounds sort of interesting-at the prices of some newer laundry equipment-KWash may make sense.I would use the KWash than pay close to $5000 on some laundry machines sold today.

I did go in another with a friend about a month ago, and it was OK. We thought they might have the Sears Ultra Plus detergent, but didn't find any. They did have some Kenmore appliances on display. I didn't buy anything.

K-wash, I agree with toli, next there will be a wally-wash lol. the K-mart near me is 10 miles away but considering the neighborhood its in,its surprisingly clean. I don't think it will be a hit though. They are going to offer wi-fi and computers to shop, whoo-hoo! if its anything like the ones at Sears auto center they are awful. I dont like using Sears or the K-mart website. There not user friendly.

We used to spend part of the summer in Miami when daddy went there on business. There was a big, at least to me, grocery store called The Little Farmer's Market in town, west of where we stayed, across the bridge where the Bahama Queen was moored at a marina. Across the parking lot, they had a coin laundry. It had yellow Frigidaire washers and a glassed-in air conditioned waiting room with a TV, pretty fancy for 1958 or 59. Only one of the washers had a round window in the lid but my parents would not let me stay to watch it operate. It remains the only coin laundry I have seen associated with a grocery store or other retail operation. There was also a non-descript coin laundry in a shopping center with Blackstones. Some of them were dead with water in them.
