What are these? Dressed-up Bauknechts? I seem to remember these for sale for about 5 minutes a couple of years ago.

But yes, these were very expensive units at the time and were only available for a hot minute.
Cannot recall if there were design problems, low sales and or because Whirlpool had acquired Maytag and had to ditch the KitchenAid brand that caused the demise.
Being as all this may these are supposedly very well built (near or at commercial quality) units that could probably give Speed Queen sets a run for their money.
These are *not* apartment sized units by a long shot, *LOL*. Loft conversion yes, but not apartment.

I remember them being shown at a sales meeting I attended with John. They were only going to be shown in the showrooms of really good KA dealers. The washer was 120 volts, but with a small heater and the dryer was contracted from some comercial laundry equipment builder and almost hand assembled. The handle below the dryer door was the pull out giant lint screen like for a big commercial dryer.
Look closely and remember because as Margaret Mitchel wrote, they are gone with the wind. That much money ($3400) for the sorry ass early Duet design washer was a bend over price and who's gonna spend that much money for a dryer? Their principal value is as museum pieces.
