KA "Three Speed" Washer

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

I'm no expert on these, but I'd bet it's really a 2 speed drive with that "gentle-gentle" feature that says "intermittent" on it. Not really sure what the point of a true 3 speed motor would be. (but everything I put in mine gets the same cycle... I might use hot for whites, and adjust the water level, but...)

Can't say for 100% certainty w/o the model number (which unfortunately isn't clearly-visible on the 4th photo) to look-up the specs but 99% probability it's a 3-speed motor. It has the KA signature oversized agitator with a larger base and fins. The base covers the ring of perforations at the bottom of the basket. Those models have a 3-speed motor and run the medium motor speed (which is low on a 2-speeder) for high agitation, ex-low motor speed for low agitation. High speed is run for drain and spin. They also typically have stepped-spin which begins at a lower speed and increases as the spin period increments. Some early models step through two mins of all three motor speeds on Perm Press final spin. I have a 1991 model which does that. My mother had a 1994 model which ran two mins of low, two mins of medium.
