WCI 24 inch portables
I don’t know if I would say looking good or somehow survived lol.
The dryer is not convertible for 120 to 240 V it’s one of the other if it is a 240 V model you can run it on 120 V but it’s hideously slow as it only has about 700 W of heating power on 120 V.
These were sold under the Montgomery Ward name that GE name Gibson and White Westinghouse to name a few.
We worked on lots of them they were serviceable to put it kindly both the washer and dryer were pretty repair prone.

Was this the washer that suds locked so hideously because of the poor design of the pump inlet?
At least it had an agitator, not a stupid impeller.

Franklin designed top load washers
With their excessive indexing tubs, the agitator really only moved in One Direction gave a wide long swing in One Direction and a tiny backstroke. I would much rather have an impeller washer. At least it would wash evenly.
The system that Franklin used was the worst top loading washer agitation that I ever saw somewhere I had a video of it. I still work on these machines almost every week under the Frigidaire laundry center models and when I see them agitate it just absolutely amazes me that they ever sold such a horrible machine.

Kelvenator full size washers
I think I've been a member on here for two or three years. I don't think I've ever seen anything posted about a full size Kelvenator automatic. I've been trying to keep my eyes open for one because I'd like to get a full size.I had one in the early eighties that was from the late 60's early 70's and it worked great! Where are they all? Did the company only make so many of them and then discontinue them? I've never heard or seen anything mentioned about one anywhere.

In two years, no there hasn't been a member or anyone else with full size Kelvinator washing machine. However if one goes further back in time...

They were really interesting post to see. They were a nice looking washer back in the day. I've never seen old ones like that. It looks like back then they were trying to have a space age look to them. Thanks again!

Kelvinator!
Yes those Kelvinators were really something. The washing action was out of this world! I wish they would have continued to build them. To bad they didnt make a 1/18.

Well, Frigidaire exclusively made that pulsator agitator, the jet-cone, the one going up & down, etc.
Kelvinator might have had similar success, only needing its own trademark name for their's...
The brand along with Gibson hardly made any impact, as by this time WCI-consolidated brands as even Frigidaire and soon to be WHITE-Westinghouse would do, let alone, the Norge-clones and leaders like Whirlpool, Maytag and GE...
Yes, DJ--typo's! Done a plenty myself, and while upgraded even, found too late to correct--would do in a succeeding post or hopefully (& hope now) something is natively clarified...

Pretty sure that's the washer I bought back in the early 80s and which later my partner broke by continually overstuffing it. I had a fabric softener dispenser that fit over the agitator with mine. Mine was branded a Viking from Eatons dept store.

That was a interesting post about the different companies. I've heard over the years what company took over what company from people I guess that really didn't know what they were talking about. I've wondered why some washers that were listed under one name look like a washer listed under a total different name when they were all from the same company. Frigidaire that is my favorite machine Was GM, then no more. I wondered who was the owner of them.Thanks again for pointing that out.
