Wow Ben, that's about as far-apart as a Whirlpool/Kenmore BD can get. What did you put on the centerpost and tub mounting screw points? Looks interesting.
Looks like you need a new tub outlet hose - that one is really flat, and has been leaking (all that white residue around it). FSP still offers the part, believe it or not - #93553.
Can't wait to read the story behind this!

A battle it was!
While there were many, many battles with this machine, in the end we got lucky on key battlefronts, and plan to wave the victory flag when the transmission, basket, and top panel get re-installed later today. More fun photos to come!

You're working on a machine older than I've had the pleasure (or not) of working on before, but the suspension rods look odd, specifically the angles. May be because the configuration is different in the 1950s cabinets?
On a good note, the outer tub looks great - no rust at all on the top rim. Some can get pretty ratty. The front right corner of the photo (which is the machine's left rear) makes the tub and basket appear not leveled properly, but it could be an optical illusion.
I don't see anything else Ben, maybe it's glaring at me?

Yes Andy - someone forgot to clean the Jet Action lint filter!
Gordon and Mike - spot on for both. The suspension rods seen above are the stock '77 variety. I figured they'd be the same length as the '59.
WRONG.
With the cabinet changes (more likely the '61 changes) the '59 rods are just a bit shorter in length. Unfortunately the original base plate with the '59 rods were left in Minnesota.
Therefore, since the overall assembly sat lower than stock, the snubber could not be installed.
The saga should hopefully have a happy ending in two weeks! The quest continues...

Do the rods mount to the same places on the 59's baseplate? The '77 rods are longer because of the true corner gussets in the '77 (vs. the 59's which travel almost straight up). This gives the rods a slightly longer distance to travel to the mounting hole.
I think DickS made the same modification to his Pink 1957 Lady, using a mid-70s baseplate, but he had to locate 1950's suspension rods, if I remember right. I think you'll be fine if you can re-use the original rods. Hopefully they're not rusted in place too badly.

Looks like you have a major clean-up ahead on that well-water Rollermatic. I have one that every single drain-slot at the top of the tub was a solid mass of lint! It must have been throwing the water right over the top of the tub----and some garments as well. Happy scrubbing!

@ Kenmoreguy64 - Gordon, the positioning of the rods on the base plate are the same. Shouldn't be too much of an issue to swap them out. Too bad the rubber balls are NLA!
@ Combo52 - I took a gamble thinking that they'd be the same from the early cabinet standard capacity to the later 70's standard capacity. Don called and asked if he should bring the original base plate down before leaving Friday morning. I said, "Nah, we don't need that thing!" Little did I know...
@ Gyrafoam - as soon as I popped the top on the Rollermatic I screamed, WELL WATER! Thankfully it is a parts machine. Unfortunately the desired part is the tub. It may be nasty, but the filth preserved a minty finish underneath.

RUBBER BALLS
The rubber balls never really failed in normal use, I don't think I ever had replaced one on a service call. That said I do think it may be a good idea to save these when you are parting out newer machines, the balls are all interchangeable.That way if you are restoring really old BD washers you will have replacements.
